Pre-Built Sauna Rooms You Can Assemble in 1 Hour

Sauna Tip! Remove all metal objects, such as watches and eyeglasses, and jewelry from your body prior to entering the sauna.

Thinking of building your own sauna but not sure if you can do it? Then have a look at pre-built sauna rooms that can be assembled in an hour or two in just four easy steps. According to manufacturers, these precut saunas can be put together by anyone who follows the simple assembly instructions. No special tools are required and you will save some money by doing it yourself.

Pre-built saunas come in a variety of sizes ranging from a 4′ x 4′ room suitable for two persons to a 9′ x 10′ family sauna. The pre-cut and pre-assembled wall and ceiling panels are made from fragrant cedar wood or available in fir, poplar or spruce. Assembly is further simplified with prebuilt sauna benches, a pre-hung door and all the parts and accessories needed to complete your installation.

Difference between Pre-cut Kits and Pre-Built Saunas

Make sure you know the difference between precut sauna kits and pre-built modular sauna rooms. Prebuilt or prefabricated home saunas are self-contained, freestanding units. Pre-cut kits are made for converting an existing room into a sauna. You will need to build an insulated frame to install the kit if you don’t have a suitably-sized area available.

Do You Want to Build Indoors or Outdoors?

Sauna Tip! Jaahdyttely ja kuivattelu - This is an air bath for cooling and relaxation. Generally, except in harsh winters, one dries with a towel only the hair and back of the neck; after a good sauna the body can dry itself and adjust naturally to any temperatue without difficulties or harm.

Pre-built or prefabricated home saunas can be installed indoors or outdoors. You can assemble the sauna room inside on a waterproof surface such as tile, concrete or linoleum. A poured concrete pad is best for an outdoor installation. Precut or custom-cut roofs are available to convert an inside sauna into an outdoor sauna. Application of a water sealant to the exterior wood is required to protect the walls from the elements.

Heater Options

Your pre-built sauna material package will most likely include a properly-sized electric sauna room heater. You will need an electrician to wire the heater. Alternatively, you can choose a wood-burning heater or purchase one of the new infrared saunas that come with ceramic heating elements built directly into the walls. Make sure you know all your options before purchasing a prebuilt or precut sauna kit.

Sauna Tip! Jalkilammittely - A fairly short warm up in the sauna which is usually followed by another short swim, dip or shower. Always finish with the cold, but not for a long exposure.
